For all my friends who have the pleasure of living in sunny climates this winter..
for all of you who found it hard to believe that major roads were closed due to the snow...
Here are some pictures I snapped while driving to the barn (Second Nature Farm) over the past couple of days. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, but most were taken while driving (literally the jeep was in motion) through my filthy windshield.
Here's Cullen Rd., As you might have guessed it's surrounded by open farmland, the 45-50 mph winds caused the snow piles to advance over the road. The plows just couldn't stay on top of it. A fairly common occurrence all over the more rural areas.
To give perspective on just how large these piles of snow are.... & if you look carefully you can see at least one (Laser) of my dogs in the jeep! By the way, these pictures were taken after a long day of sunshine that (thankfully) helped to melt a lot of the snow. You can kind of get an idea of that based on the slushy mixture on the roadway in front of my Jeep.
LOL, Hope's furry little head looking out at the massive snow piles on Rt 10 in Oxford.
Route 10, in Oxford. These snow piles, along with some others toward Cochranville kept snow crews busy. High winds had the snow marching across the roadway, keeping sections of 10 closed for days on end.
Route 10, from Township Rd. Let's hope the melting continues. I think I've seen enough snow to last me til next year!
