& I still miss you Laser. I'm trying to stay positive & think of the good times, so I thought I'd share this photo. It's one of my favorites...
Taken on Acadia Mountain, in Southwest harbor, Bar Habor Maine, on our hike to the summit. It was a TOUGH hike. Most of it, was just like this picture shows. Boldering up the mountain. Laser, , always in the lead, looking back at me as if to say, "Ya coming?" :-)
Uh huh buddy, I'm right behind ya! Like a metronome, he was so steady in his pace. Occassionally we'd encounter an outcropping that was too steep & I'd have to climb up, & hoist him. On the way down, he amazed me with his awareness of me. I kept him tethered to me the entire hike. So you can imagine, going down, how dangerous it could have been if he'd pulled me, or leap ahead. He never did. Rarely did I need to say more than whisper"Whoa!" or "Easy!" he'd pause & wait for me. If I needed to jump down first & catch him, so be it. What a partnership.
When I uploaded this photo I realized as I looked at the date/time stamp, that it was taken 6 years ago today. Timing is everything isn't it?
I miss Maine. And I miss Laser; they'll be forever linked in my heart. I'd like to go back again, & hike. Just not sure I'm ready yet.....
